CAMPUS LOCATION
Situated on a very large campus of just under 100,000 square metres next to University City we are an ideal location for easy access to downtown and new Sharjah, Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
We are blessed with one of the largest school campuses in the UAE and probably the ‘greenest’. The school moved to this new campus in 2005 having originated as a primary school in central Sharjah near the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in 1974. We are extremely grateful to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah for his generous donation of the land at both the original and new site.
Sharjah is one of the 7 Emirates of the UAE and is situated between Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Sharjah is generally regarded as the cultural hub of the UAE with a multitude of museums, galleries and historical sites that attract visitors from all over the world.
In recent years widespread government investment has led to a regeneration of many areas including those close to the school. SES is situated very close to the universities on the Meliha Rd which is a main artery with easy access to downtown Sharjah and the other Emirates. Many high quality residential areas are in close proximity to the school both in Sharjah and Dubai. Dubai and Sharjah International Airports are both within a 15 minute drive of the school.
The UAE is a dynamic and exciting place to visit or to live and work and is generally regarded to be at the forefront of new technologies and quality of life. It is welcoming to all nationalities and faiths and is one of the safest places to live in the world.
CAMPUS FACILITIES
We now cater to students from 3-18 years old in purpose built facilities. Foundation 1-Year 2 are housed together in our latest building, completed in 2017.
Large, modern, spacious classrooms, an indoor sports hall and the Main Primary Reception complement beautiful outdoor learning spaces, providing a wonderful setting for our youngest students.
Y3-6 can be found together in one of the original buildings. Again large classrooms which open onto outside spaces provide an excellent environment for high quality learning. A Primary Library and Music classroom as well as an Assembly space and an innovation space are also in this building. All primary students also enjoy a range of age appropriate outdoor play equipment, lots of space to run around and plenty of shade.
Y7-13 students are spread across 3 buildings, all within a short walking distance of each other. Traditional classrooms exist for most subjects with specialist facilities also available for Science, Design Technology, Library, Art, Drama and Computer Science. Our 6th Form (Y12/13) enjoy their own study spaces and a common room.
Performing Arts benefits from a stunning school auditorium that hosts large musical and theatrical performances as well as regular assemblies and community events. A number of peripatetic rooms support our Music programme. |
Our provision for sport is excellent. We enjoy a multi-purpose, grass school field that is probably the largest in the UAE with arguably one of the best views (over University City). A large spectator stand allows superb views and shade for sports days, fixtures and other school events. A 25m swimming pool and 2 sports halls are also available as well as professional level cricket facilities with nets, sight screens and a video replay screen. Four floodlights encircle the field allowing evening sport for our students and the wider community.
Our 5 year strategic plan contains a comprehensive plan for the development and modernisation of our school facilities. Our stated vision of becoming ‘a world class school, embracing the dynamism of the UAE’ will be realised more quickly given this significant investment by the school.
